![]() the Abominations Unto Sterling that have popped up. That and getting on the PS4 these days seems to be a case of bribing the right people at Sony r.e. Just probably not this year given the work and money involved to do it. Since They've already worked together for the TQ updates and Crate lisenced their netcode to THQ Nordic to replace the no-longer online GameSpy service TQ used to use. Though with the TQ port and given GD will likely sell well on the Xbox1 (given the otherwise lack of diablo likes on it) this may prompt Sony to reconsider, or THQ-Nordic may end up helping Crate. So Crate would have approached Sony with a request for funding to help do this, probably with Sony getting an increased share of the price of the game + costs, but for what ever stupid reason Sony didn't want to do this. ![]() Crate would require extra resources to port it over to the PS4 since the PS4 uses OpenGL rather than DirectX (which means writing a whole new renderer) and there's also the lack of windows binaries and libraries GD relies on to run (more programming work). They've provided licenses and devkits to less established organizations. Sony doesn't just randomly deny licenses without reason if you can afford the license and devkit. ![]() ![]() Originally posted by caelcyndar5:Crate approached Sony and Sony told them no. ![]()
